Cliche rhymes in songs
Cliche rhymes in songs:
eyes > butterflies (when I look into your eyes, I feel butterflies, etc)
only > lonely
together > forever
crazy > baby
(I know some of these don't actually rhyme, but that doesn't stop artists from putting them together)
love > above
hands in the air > just don't care
Not a rhyme, but a cliche verse: tears fall like rain, crying raindrops, tears of rain, etc.
Another one that really gets me: any phrase with "the deep blue sea" in it. Same with "high as the clouds" or "high as/in the sky" or "blue as the sky."
Others? Post in comments.
